Mary TV: April 27, 2017 Reflection - By your witness and example...

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Love, pray and witness my presence to all those who are far away. By your witness and example, you can draw closer the hearts that are far from God and His grace. I am with you and intercede for each of you so that, with love and resoluteness, you may witness and encourage all those who are far from my Immaculate Heart. Thank you for having responded to my call." (April 25, 2017)

"By your witness and example, you can draw closer the hearts that are far from God and His grace."

Our Lady is calling us in this message and in all of her messages to truly strive to be her apostles, her devoted ones who are in a very special way set aside as her own. She is asking us to draw her other children into her heart, where she can mother them!

St. Louis de Montfort composed a list of characteristics that he felt describe those who live a true devotion to Mary. I think these characteristics are familiar to us all, because in Medjugorje Our Lady has been leading us into this kind of relationship with her.

See for yourself if these are not the example we are to give. Here are his five marks of a soul truly devoted to Mary:

Marks of authentic devotion to our Lady

After having explained and condemned false devotions to the Blessed Virgin we shall now briefly describe what true devotion is. It is interior, trustful, holy, constant and disinterested.

First, true devotion to our Lady is interior, that is, it comes from within the mind and the heart and follows from the esteem in which we hold her, the high regard we have for her greatness, and the love we bear her.

Second, it is trustful, that is to say, it fills us with confidence in the Blessed Virgin, the confidence that a child has for its loving Mother. It prompts us to go to her in every need of body and soul with great simplicity, trust and affection. We implore our Mother's help always, everywhere, and for everything. We pray to her to be enlightened in our doubts, to be put back on the right path when we go astray, to be protected when we are tempted, to be strengthened when we are weakening, to be lifted up when we fall into sin, to be encouraged when we are losing heart, to be rid of our scruples, to be consoled in the trials, crosses and disappointments of life. Finally, in all our afflictions of body and soul, we naturally turn to Mary for help, with never a fear of importuning her or displeasing our Lord.

Third, true devotion to our Lady is holy, that is, it leads us to avoid sin and to imitate the virtues of Mary. Her ten principal virtues are: deep humility, lively faith, blind obedience, unceasing prayer, constant self-denial, surpassing purity, ardent love, heroic patience, angelic kindness, and heavenly wisdom.

Fourth, true devotion to our Lady is constant. It strengthens us in our desire to do good and prevents us from giving up our devotional practices too easily. It gives us the courage to oppose the fashions and maxims of the world, the vexations and unruly inclinations of the flesh and the temptations of the devil. Thus a person truly devoted to our Blessed Lady is not changeable, fretful, scrupulous or timid. We do not say however that such a person never sins or that his sensible feelings of devotion never change. When he has fallen, he stretches out his hand to his Blessed Mother and rises again. If he loses all taste and feeling for devotion, he is not at all upset because a good and faithful servant of Mary is guided in his life by faith in Jesus and Mary, and not by feelings.

Fifth, true devotion to Mary is disinterested. It inspires us to seek God alone in his Blessed Mother and not ourselves. The true subject of Mary does not serve his illustrious Queen for selfish gain. He does not serve her for temporal or eternal well- being but simply and solely because she has the right to be served and God alone in her. He loves her not so much because she is good to him or because he expects something from her, but simply because she is lovable. That is why he loves and serves her just as faithfully in weariness and dryness of soul as in sweet and sensible fervour. He loves her as much on Calvary as at Cana. How pleasing and precious in the sight of God and his holy Mother must these servants of Mary be, who serve her without any self-seeking. How rare they are nowadays! It is to increase their number that I have taken up my pen to write down what I have been teaching with success both publicly and in private in my missions for many years.  (True Devotion to Mary, n. 105-110)

Thank you to all of you who are striving to live a true devotion to Mary. In these latter days, you are on the front line in the battle to save souls!!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: April 27, 2017 Reflection - Devotion to Mary is especially necessary...

This message is reminding me very much of the teachings of St. Louis de Montfort, in True Devotion to Mary. Our Lady is very concerned for her children who are far away from her and from her Son. She is giving us a mission. It is a mission for these days. She wants us to draw to her all those who are far away from her Immaculate Heart. She has been sent in these latter days to save the souls who are lost. The Father has sent her and she is now sending us. She needs us to live our deep devotion to her, our deep relationship with her, so that others will be moved to find her.

Here is a description that St. Louis wrote of the apostles of Our Lady in these latter days:
Devotion to Mary is especially necessary in the latter times.

Finally, God in these times wishes his Blessed Mother to be more known, loved and honored than she has ever been. This will certainly come about if the elect, by the grace and light of the Holy Spirit, adopt the interior and perfect practice of the devotion which I shall later unfold. Then they will clearly see that beautiful Star of the Sea, as much as faith allows. Under her guidance they will perceive the splendors of this Queen and will consecrate themselves entirely to her service as subjects and slaves of love. They will experience her motherly kindness and affection for her children. They will love her tenderly and will appreciate how full of compassion she is and how much they stand in need of her help. In all circumstances they will have recourse to her as their advocate and mediatrix with Jesus Christ. They will see clearly that she is the safest, easiest, shortest and most perfect way of approaching Jesus and will surrender themselves to her, body and soul, without reserve in order to belong entirely to Jesus. (n.55 of True Devotion to Mary by St. Louise de Montfort)

St. Louis was describing us! We are her children, who love her tenderly and appreciate how full of compassion she is and how much we need her help!! We are those who have recourse to her in every circumstance! We are those who understand how much we need her. And we see how she leads us directly to her Son.

May we draw many souls to Mary, many, many souls!! Amen, may it be so!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we hope to receive another message from Our Lady. Let's recall her message of March 25 as we wait!
"Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to open your hearts to God's mercy, to begin a new life through prayer, penance and a decision for holiness. This time of spring moves you to a new life, to a renewal, in your thoughts and hearts. Therefore, little children, I am with you to help you to say 'yes' to God and to God's commandments with resoluteness. You are not alone; I am with you through the grace which the Most High gives me for you and your descendants. Thank you for having responded to my call." March 25, 2017
It is wonderful to know that Our Lady is thinking of our descendants!! She is with us to help us and to change the world. We can begin a new life, as of this moment. We can choose prayer and desire holiness through penance and love. This is the time; this is the moment. This is the first day of the rest of our lives.

Thank you, dearest Mother, for being with us according to the grace which the Most High has given you for us!!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: April 24, 2017 Reflection - A little teaching on prayer!

Dear Family of Mary!
May 25, 2002 "Dear children! Today I call you to put prayer in the first place in your life. Pray and may prayer, little children, be a joy for you. I am with you and intercede for all of you, and you, little children, be joyful carriers of my messages. May your life with me be joy. Thank you for having responded to my call."

We find ourselves in the Easter Season, having just celebrated Divine Mercy Sunday! So many graces have been poured out upon us!! So today I want to share with the transcript of Fr. Leon's Snippet for April 20 2017. It is brief but very much to the point. He teaches us about prayer. And prayer is at the heart of our response to the graces of these days. So enjoy!

Fr. Leon's Snippet from April 20, 2017:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit! Amen!

Good morning everyone! I am going to talk to you today about prayer. Most people tell me that for prayer they ask God for things. But what is prayer? Prayer is the raising of our hearts and minds to God above. If you had a friend who only talked to you when they asked you for things, would they long be your friend? Would they remain friends with you for very long? No I guess not. You would get fed up with them if they only came round for a cup of sugar.

Now prayer is usually divided into four parts. The first is Adoration. Adoration means "ad ore" - to the mouth. It means to kiss. Adoration means to love. In Adoration we adore God because He is supremely adorable. He is worthy to be loved and praised. We don't tell Him he is marvelous so that we can get things out of Him or to flatter Him. We tell Him what He already knows! He does not need our praise but we need to praise Him. Do you see the distinction? God does not need anything from us, but we need to adore Him. To praise Him.

Then the second one is Contrition. Contrition does not mean sorrow alone, as though we say I am a terrible sinner. No. "Contristus" means a heart ground up by love. Completely ground up. So it is sorrow for sins, but for a special reason - "because You love me so much." So it is a confident trust in God's mercy.

Then the third one is Thanksgiving. I often tell my Confirmation kids, imagine you wake up tomorrow and all you have is what you thanked God for today! And many of them look frightened because they realize they would wake up dead! Thanksgiving! Remember the word "Eucharist", the Mass itself is Thanksgiving! Thanking God, because everything that we have is from Him. Our life, our being, everything is from Him.

And last of all, Supplication. Supplication means to ask for things. So notice that, asking for things comes last. It is the last part of prayer. And these four things spell out a little acronym, so you can remember it.

Adoration - "A"
Contrition - "C"
Thanksgiving - "T"
Supplication - "S"

ACTS!

Now you can remember it? Marvelous!
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! Amen!

Fr. Leon's snippets are the "back to basics" of the Catholic life! Don't miss them. The link is posted on our home page.

Mary TV: April 22, 2017 Easter Saturday - Divine Mercy Novena Day 9

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
Easter Saturday
Divine Mercy Novena Day 9

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we have a difficult job. We must pray for those who have become lukewarm to the love of Jesus. These souls are in great danger. Somehow they have been lulled to sleep and do not know the great mercy and kindness of the Lord. They are unaware that they exist due to His mercy. It may also be true that we ourselves are among their number. Lukewarmness creeps up upon us unawares.

Our Lady has cautioned us about being lukewarm:
November 20, 1986 "Dear children! Today also I am calling you to live and follow with a special love all the messages which I am giving you. Dear children, God does not want you lukewarm and undecided, but that you totally surrender to Him. You know that I love you and that out of love I long for you. Therefore, dear children, you also decide for love so that you will long for and daily experience God's love. Dear children, decide for love so that love prevails in all of you, but not human love, rather God's love. Thank you for having responded to my call."

We can decide for love, and decide to be on fire for God! And we can pray that that fire is lit in the hearts of all who have fallen to sleep in lukewarmness.

Our Lord told St. Faustina about lukewarm souls, and how they hurt Him:

On a certain occasion, the Lord said to me, I am more deeply wounded by the small imperfections of chosen souls than by the sins of those living in the world. It made me very sad that chosen souls make Jesus suffer, and Jesus told me, These little imperfections are not all. I will reveal to you a secret of My Heart: what I suffer from chosen souls. Ingratitude in return for so many graces is My Heart's constant food, on the part of [such] a chosen soul. Their love is lukewarm, and My Heart cannot bear it; these souls force Me to reject them. Others distrust My goodness and have no desire to experience that sweet intimacy in their own hearts, but go in search of Me, off in the distance, and do not find Me. This distrust of My goodness hurts Me very much. If My death has not convinced you of My love, what will? Often a soul wounds Me mortally, and then no one can comfort Me. They use My graces to offend Me. There are souls who despise My graces as well as all the proofs of My love. They do not wish to hear My call, but proceed into the abyss of hell. The loss of these souls plunges Me into deadly sorrow. God though I am, I cannot help such a soul because it scorns Me; having a free will, it can spurn Me or love Me. You, who are the dispenser of My mercy, tell all the world about My goodness, and thus you
will comfort My Heart.  (580 Diary)

Divine Mercy Novena, Day 9

Today bring to Me SOULS WHO HAVE BECOME LUKEWARM,* and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully. My soul suffered the most dreadful loathing in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They were the reason I cried out: 'Father, take this cup away from Me, if it be Your will.' For them, the last hope of salvation is to run to My mercy.
Most compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love, let these tepid souls, who, like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. O Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardor of Your love, and bestow upon them the gift of holy love, for nothing is beyond Your power.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon lukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross: Let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy. Amen.

Jesus, light within us the fire of Your Love! We long for You. Teach us to thirst for you as you thirst for us!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

PS.  Tomorrow is the Feast of Divine Mercy!!  We have prayed our novena, and now we can enter into the graces of the Feast Day!! Here is what St. John Paul II decreed for a plenary indulgence on the Feast of Mercy:

A plenary indulgence, granted under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer for the intentions of Supreme Pontiff) to the faithful who, on the Second Sunday of Easter or Divine Mercy Sunday, in any church or chapel, in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin, even a venial sin, take part in the prayers and devotions held in honor of Divine Mercy, or who, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed or reserved in the tabernacle, recite the Our Father and the Creed, adding a devout prayer to the merciful Lord Jesus (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!")!

See you tomorrow at 3:00 pm Medjugorje time to pray for Divine Mercy!

Mary TV: April 21, 2017 Easter Friday - Divine Mercy Novena Day 8

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

April 21, 2017
Easter Friday
Divine Mercy Novena, Day 8

Dear Family of Mary!

Today, the Lord asked St. Faustina to pray for the Souls in Purgatory on Day 8.  St. Faustina tells many stories of her encounters with these souls, and how the Lord used her prayer for their release.  Our Lady has asked us to do the same:

November 6, 1986 "Dear children! Today I wish to call you to pray daily for souls in purgatory. For every soul prayer and grace is necessary to reach God and the love of God. By doing this, dear children, you obtain new intercessors who will help you in life to realize that all the earthly things are not important for you, that only Heaven is that for which it is necessary to strive. Therefore, dear children, pray without ceasing that you may be able to help yourselves and the others to whom your prayers will bring joy. Thank you for having responded to my call."

St. Faustina had a special mission for the Souls in Purgatory.  She explains:

Shortly after this, I fell ill [general exhaustion]. The dear Mother Superior sent me with two other sisters for a rest to Skolimow, not far from Warsaw. It was at that time that I asked the Lord who else I should pray for. Jesus said that on the following night He would let me know for whom I should pray.

[The Next night] I saw my Guardian Angel, who ordered me to follow him. In a moment I was in a misty place full of fire in which there was a great crowd of suffering souls. They were praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid. The flames which were burning them did not touch me at all. My Guardian Angel did not leave me for an instant. I asked these souls what their greatest suffering was. They answered me in one voice that their greatest torment was longing for God. I saw Our Lady visiting the souls in Purgatory. The souls call her "The Star of the Sea." She brings them refreshment. I wanted to talk with them some more, but my Guardian Angel beckoned me to leave. We went out of that prison of suffering.[I heard and interior voice] which said, My mercy does not want this, but justice demands it. Since that time, I am in closer communion with the suffering souls.  (20 Diary)

Divine Mercy Novena, Day 8
Today bring to Me the souls who are in the prison of Purgatory, and immerse them
in the abyss of My mercy. Let the torrents of My Blood cool down their scorching
flames. All these souls are greatly loved by Me. They are making retribution to My
justice. It is in your power to bring them relief. Draw all the indulgences from the
treasury of My Church and offer them on their behalf. Oh, if you only knew the
torments they suffer, you would continually offer for them the alms of the spirit
and pay off their debt to My justice.

Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I bring into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet, who must make retribution to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which gushed forth from Your Heart put out the flames of the purifying fire, that in that place, too, the power of Your mercy may be praised.

From the terrible heat of the cleansing fire
Rises a plaint to Your mercy,
And they receive comfort, refreshment, relief
In the stream of mingled Blood and Water.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls suffering in Purgatory, who are
enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. I beg You, by the sorrowful Passion of Jesus Your Son, and by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded, manifest Your mercy to the souls who are under Your just scrutiny. Look upon them in no other way than through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion.

Oh Jesus, Divine Mercy, help us to be merciful to the Souls suffering in Purgatory, and through our prayers, may we bring the relief. Jesus, have mercy on them.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: April 20, 2017 Easter Thursday - Divine Mercy Novena Day 7

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
April 20, 2017
Easter Thursday
Divine Mercy Novena, Day 7

Dear Family of Mary!

Today, the Lord asked St. Faustina to pray for all those who "especially venerate and glorify My Mercy". On this day Jesus wants to bless those who actually live Mercy as their way of life. Our Lady has called us to this very way of life:

March 18, 2001
"Dear children! Today I call you to love and mercy. Give love to each other as your Father gives it to you. Be merciful (pause) - with the heart. Do good works, not permitting them to wait for you too long. Every mercy that comes from the heart brings you closer to my Son."

Our Lady was resolute and clear in Her words because this was very important! This call was decisive for our times. We are living in the time of Mercy, and it is Mercy that will triumph through us if we let it. She needs us to be Mercy, like her Son is Mercy. Jesus needs us to extol His Mercy and adore it, because it is the last grace, the final gift to the world!

Jesus told St. Faustina:

The Lord said to me, My daughter, do not tire of proclaiming My mercy. In this way you will refresh this Heart of Mine, which burns with a flame of pity for sinners.
Tell My priests that hardened sinners will repent on hearing their words when they speak about My unfathomable mercy, about the compassion I have for them in My Heart. To priests who proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give wondrous power; I will anoint their words and touch the hearts of those to whom they will speak.  (1521 Dairy)

Divine Mercy Novena, Day 7
Today bring to Me THE SOULS WHO ESPECIALLY VENERATE AND GLORIFY MY MERCY, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls sorrowed most over my Passion and entered most deeply into My spirit. They are living images of My Compassionate Heart. These souls will shine with a special brightness in the next life. Not one of them will go into the fire of hell. I shall particularly defend each one of them at the hour of death.
Most Merciful Jesus, whose Heart is Love Itself, receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who particularly extol and venerate the greatness of Your mercy. These souls are mighty with the very power of God Himself. In the midst of all afflictions and adversities they go forward, confident of Your mercy; and united to You, O Jesus, they carry all mankind on their shoulders. These souls will not be judged severely, but Your mercy will embrace them as they depart from this life.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls who glorify and venerate Your greatest attribute, that of Your fathomless mercy, and who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls are a living Gospel; their hands are full of deeds of mercy, and their hearts, overflowing with joy, sing a canticle of mercy to You, O Most High! I beg You O God:

Show them Your mercy according to the hope and trust they have placed in You. Let there be accomplished in them the promise of Jesus, who said to them that during their life, but especially at the hour of death, the souls who will venerate this fathomless mercy of His, He, Himself, will defend as His glory. Amen.

Oh Jesus, Divine Mercy, may we become like You, through love. May we extol Your Mercy with our hearts and our actions. O Jesus, Divine Mercy, we adore You!

Mary TV: April 19, 2017 Easter Wednesday - Divine Mercy Novena Day 6

J.M.J.
April 19, 2017
Easter Wednesday

Dear Family of Mary!

Day 6! We pray today for "The Meek and Humble Souls and the Souls of Little Children!" In the mystery of God's plan, it is these souls that triumph! Jesus led the way, teaching us how to live meekness and humility, saying: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light." (Mt 11:28-30) The Lord of all Creation was humble and meek, and proclaimed it the very road on which we should travel if we want to reign with Him.

Our Lady herself has called us to that victorious and heavenly road:

July 2, 2007 "Dear children! In the great love of God, I come to you today to lead you on the way of humility and meekness. The first station on that way, my children, is confession. Reject your arrogance and kneel down before my Son. Comprehend, my children, that you have nothing and you can do nothing. The only thing that you have and that you possess is sin. Be cleansed and accept meekness and humility. My Son could have won with strength, but He chose meekness, humility and love. Follow my Son and give me your hands so that, together, we may climb the mountain* and win. Thank you."

And St. Faustina praised childlike souls:

But above all these beauties,
A more pleasing praise to God
Is a soul innocent and filled with childlike trust,
Which, through grace, is closely bound to Him.  (1750 Diary)

Divine Mercy Novena, Day 6

Today bring to Me THE MEEK AND HUMBLE SOULS AND THE SOULS OF LITTLE CHILDREN, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who will keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace. Only the humble soul is capable of receiving My grace. I favor humble souls with My confidence.
Most Merciful Jesus, You yourself have said, "Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart." Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all heaven into ecstasy and they are the heavenly Father's favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God; God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. These souls have a permanent abode in Your Most Compassionate Heart, O Jesus, and they unceasingly sing out a hymn of love and mercy.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek souls, upon humble souls, and upon little children who are enfolded in the abode which is the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You by the love You bear these souls and by the delight You take in them: Bless the whole world, that all souls together may sing out the praises of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Easter Tuesday - Divine Mercy Day 5

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we pray for those who have separated themselves from the Church. Many of us have family members and relatives who have chosen this path. Together we can lift all of them up to the Lord and His mercy. May they be healed and drawn into the Truth, into the unity of the love of God!!

Our Lady speaks words of encouragement in this message:

January 02, 2015 "Dear children, I am here among you as a mother who desires to help you to come to know the truth. While I lived your life on earth I had knowledge of the truth, and by this alone, a piece of Heaven on earth. That is why I desire the same for you, my children. The Heavenly Father desires pure hearts filled with the knowledge of the truth. He desires for you to love all those whom you meet, because I also love my Son in all of you. This is the beginning of coming to know the truth. Many false truths are being offered to you. You will overcome them with a heart cleansed by fasting, prayer, penance and the Gospel. This is the only truth and it is the truth which my Son left you. You do not need to examine it much. What is asked of you, as I also have done, is to love and to give. My children, if you love, your heart will be a home for my Son and me, and the words of my Son will be the guiding light in your life. My children, I will make use of you, apostles of love, to help all of my children to come to know the truth. My children, I have always prayed for the Church of my Son, and so I also ask the same of you. Pray that your shepherds may come to shine forth with the love of my Son. Thank you."

Divine Mercy Novena, Day 5

Today bring to Me THE SOULS OF THOSE WHO HAVE SEPARATED THEMSELVES FROM MY CHURCH,* and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. During My bitter Passion they tore at My Body and Heart, that is, My Church. As they return to unity with the Church, My wounds heal and in this way they alleviate My Passion.
Most Merciful Jesus, Goodness Itself, You do not refuse light to those who seek it of You. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Church. Draw them by Your light into the unity of the Church, and do not let them escape from the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart; but bring it about that they, too, come to glorify the generosity of Your mercy.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Son's Church, who have squandered Your blessings and misused Your graces by obstinately persisting in their errors. Do not look upon their errors, but upon the love of Your own Son and upon His bitter Passion, which He underwent for their sake, since they, too, are enclosed in His Most Compassionate Heart. Bring it about that they also may glorify Your great mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Easter Monday

Dear Family of Mary!

Day 4 of the Divine Mercy Novena! Today we pray for those who do not believe in God, those who do not yet know Him. This is the great mission that Mirjana Soldo has been given. Here is a message Our Lady gave us through Mirjana which captures this great mission and our part in it:

April 2, 2015 "Dear children, I have chosen you, my apostles, because all of you carry something beautiful within you. You can help me to have the love, for the sake of which my Son died and then resurrected, win anew. Therefore, I am calling you, my apostles, to try to see something good in every creature of God, in all of my children, and to try to understand them. My children, you are all brothers and sisters through the same Holy Spirit. You, filled with love for my Son, can speak of what you know to all those who have not come to know that love. You have come to know the love of my Son, you have comprehended His Resurrection, with joy you cast your gaze towards Him. My motherly desire is for all of my children to be united in love for Jesus. Therefore, I am calling you, my apostles, to live the Eucharist with joy, because in the Eucharist my Son gives Himself to you anew and with His example shows the love and sacrifice towards the neighbor. Thank you."

St. Faustina prayed very much for those who do not believe in God or know Him:

O my God, how I pity those people who do not believe in eternal life; how I pray for them that a ray of mercy would envelop them too, and that God would clasp them to His fatherly bosom.  (780 Diary)

Before the vigil supper, I entered the chapel for a moment to break the wafer spiritually with those dear to my heart. I presented them all, by name, to Jesus and begged for graces on their behalf. But that wasn't all. I commended to the Lord all those who are being persecuted, those who are suffering, those who do not know His Name, and especially poor sinners. O little Jesus, I fervently ask You, enclose them all in the ocean of Your incomprehensible mercy.  (845 Diary)

Let's pray with all our hearts today for the souls who do not believe and do not yet know God:

Divine Mercy Novena Day 4:

Today bring to Me THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD* AND THOSE WHO DO NOT YET KNOW ME. I was thinking also of them during My bitter Passion, and their future zeal comforted My Heart. Immerse them in the ocean of My mercy.
Most compassionate Jesus, You are the Light of the whole world. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who do not believe in God and of those who as yet do not know You. Let the rays of Your grace enlighten them that they, too, together with us, may extol Your wonderful mercy; and do not let them escape from the abode which is Your Most Compassionate Heart.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who do not believe in You, and of those who as yet do not know You, but who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Draw them to the light of the Gospel. These souls do not know what great happiness it is to love You. Grant that they, too, may extol the generosity of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Divine Mercy Novena, Day 3

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we pray for all Devout and Faithful Souls, all those who are striving to do God's will and to love Him above all else. Our Lady is forming just such souls through her messages. Here she speaks to them with such love:
March 02, 2015 "Dear children! You are my strength. You, my apostles, who with your love, humility and silence of prayer are making it possible for one to come to know my Son. You live in me. You carry me in your heart. You know that you have a mother who loves you and who has come to bring love. I am looking at you in the Heavenly Father - your thoughts, your pains, your sufferings - and I offer them to my Son. Do not be afraid and do not lose hope, because my Son listens to his mother. Since he was born he loves and I desire for all of my children to come to know that love. I desire that all those who left him because of their pain and misunderstanding may return to him and that all those who have never known him may come to know him. That is why you are here, my apostles, and I as a mother am with you. Pray for the firmness of faith, because love and mercy come from firm faith. Through love and mercy you will help all those who are not aware that they are choosing darkness instead of light. Pray for your shepherds because they are the strength of the Church which my Son left to you. Through my Son, they are the shepherds of souls. Thank you."

St. Faustina strove to be faithful to Jesus and Mary:

I am striving for sanctity, because in this way I shall be useful to the Church. I make constant efforts in practicing virtue. I try faithfully to follow Jesus. And I deposit this whole series of daily virtues-silent, hidden, almost imperceptible, but made with great love-in the treasury of God's Church for the common benefit of souls. I feel interiorly as if I were responsible for all souls. I know very well that I do not live for myself alone, but for the entire Church... (Diary 1505)

Divine Mercy Novena, Day 3

Today bring to Me ALL DEVOUT AND FAITHFUL SOULS, and immerse then in the ocean of My mercy. The souls brought Me consolation on the Way of the Cross. They were that drop of consolation in the midst of an ocean of bitterness.
Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your mercy, You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg this grace of You by that most wonderous love for the heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with Your constant protection. Thus may they never fail in love or lose the treasure of the holy faith, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your boundless mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Holy Saturday
Divine Mercy Novena, Day 2

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we pray for the souls of Priests and Religious. Our Lady has asked us to pray in this way. Here is one message:

"...Pray for the firmness of faith, because love and mercy come from firm faith. Through love and mercy you will help all those who are not aware that they are choosing darkness instead of light. Pray for your shepherds because they are the strength of the Church which my Son left to you. Through my Son, they are the shepherds of souls. Thank you."(March 2, 2015)

Jesus asked St. Faustina to pray for priests as well:

Today, I saw the Lord in great beauty, and He said to me, My loving host, pray for priests, especially during this time of harvest. My Heart is pleased with you, and for your sake I am blessing the earth. (Diary 980)

Let us pray Novena Day 2:

Today bring to Me THE SOULS OF PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS, and immerse them in My unfathomable mercy. It was they who gave Me strength to endure My bitter Passion. Through them as through channels My mercy flows out upon mankind.
Most Merciful Jesus, from whom comes all that is good, increase Your grace in men and women consecrated to Your service,* that they may perform worthy works of mercy; and that all who see them may glorify the Father of Mercy who is in heaven.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the company of chosen ones in Your vineyard-upon the souls of priests and religious; and endow them with the strength of Your blessing. For the love of the Heart of Your Son in which they are enfolded, impart to them Your power and light, that they may be able to guide others in the way of salvation and with one voice sing praise to Your boundless mercy for ages without end. Amen.

Mary TV: April 14, 2017 - Good Friday - Divine Mercy Day 1

Good Friday

Dear Family of Mary!
In silence, we stay with Jesus, Crucified.
March 25, 2013 "Dear children! In this time of grace I call you to take the cross of my beloved Son Jesus in your hands and to meditate on His passion and death. May your suffering be united in His suffering and love will win, because He who is love gave Himself out of love to save each of you. Pray, pray, pray until love and peace begin to reign in your hearts. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Good Friday. At three o'clock, I saw the Lord Jesus, crucified, who looked at me and said, I thirst. Then I saw two rays issue from His side, just as they appear in the image. I then felt in my soul the desire to save souls and to empty myself for the sake of poor sinners. I offered myself, together with the dying Jesus, to the Eternal Father, for the salvation of the whole world. With Jesus, through Jesus and in Jesus is my communion with You, Eternal Father. (648, Diary)

Divine Mercy Novena Day 1:
Today bring to Me ALL MANKIND, ESPECIALLY ALL SINNERS, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.
Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Oh omnipotence of Divine Mercy,
Salvation of sinful people,
You are a sea of mercy and compassion;
You aid those who entreat You with humility.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon all mankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion show us Your mercy, that we may praise the omnipotence of Your mercy for ever and ever. Amen.

Holy Thursday

Dear Family of Mary!

I thought that today might be a good time to pray over Our Lady's words in this message from 2015. She spoke very eloquently of the mysteries we are going to live in these three days, the Holy Triduum. She speaks of Jesus' Passion and Death, and of His Institution of the Eucharist. She shares with us what she feels is most important for us to understand. Let's take some time to listen to her words again, and pray for light.

July 02, 2015 "Dear children, I am calling you to spread the faith in my Son - your faith. You, my children illuminated by the Holy Spirit, my apostles, transmit it to others - to those who do not believe, who do not know, who do not want to know - but for that you must pray a lot for the gift of love, because love is the mark of true faith - and you will be apostles of my love.

Love always, anew, revives the pain and the joy of the Eucharist, it revives the pain of the Passion of my Son, by which He showed you what it means to love immeasurably; it revives the joy for having left you His body and blood to feed you with Himself - and in this way, to be one with you.

Looking at you with tenderness, I feel immeasurable love which strengthens me in my desire to bring you to a firm faith. Firm faith will give you joy and happiness on earth and in the end the encounter with my Son. This is His desire.

Therefore, live Him, live love, live the light that always illuminates you in the Eucharist.

I implore you to pray a lot for your shepherds, to pray so as to have all the more love for them because my Son gave them to you to feed you with His body and to teach you love. Therefore, also you are to love them. But, my children, remember, love means to endure and to give, and never, ever to judge.

Thank you."

May we live the light that illuminates us in the Eucharist today and every day!

Mary TV: April 12, 2017 Reflection - Meditate on the wounds of Jesus.

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
April 12, 2017
Wednesday of Holy Week

Dear Family of Mary!

March 25, 1997 "Dear children! Today, in a special way, I invite you to take the cross in the hands and to meditate on the wounds of Jesus. Ask of Jesus to heal your wounds, which you, dear children, during your life sustained because of your sins or the sins of your parents. Only in this way, dear children, you will understand that the world is in need of healing of faith in God the Creator. By Jesus' passion and death on the cross, you will understand that only through prayer you, too, can become true apostles of faith; when, in simplicity and prayer, you live faith which is a gift. Thank you for having responded to my call."
Today we read the Gospel Matthew - describing the same scene when Judas departs to betray Jesus.  "Surely it is not I, Rabbi."  And Jesus answered, "You have said so."  We wonder how Judas could have been so bold-faced to pretend before the Lord that he was not a betrayer.  But have we not been tempted to smooth over relationships with just such lies?

It occurred to me that Judas did not understand Jesus.  He knew Him in His public ministry, and as a friend, but this was all before Christ's passion and death.  He didn't understand the depth of Jesus' love, nor the price Jesus was to pay for sin.  He didn't get it.  He was still thinking in worldly terms about Jesus' ministry.

Our Lady doesn't want us to be so short sighted.  And so she tells us "Today, in a special way, I invite you to take the cross in the hands and to meditate on the wounds of Jesus."  Mother Mary wants us to experience the Crucifixion of Jesus close up.  Jesus' suffering for us must be inscribed on our hearts.  We need to know how much He loves us, so that we will never be tempted to betray Him.

She then tells us: "Ask of Jesus to heal your wounds, which you, dear children, during your life sustained because of your sins or the sins of your parents. Only in this way, dear children, you will understand that the world is in need of healing of faith in God the Creator."  When we ask Jesus to heal our wounds from our sins and our parent's sins, He will do it.  He will give us back our identity as His children.  He will heal our shame and guilt, our self-loathing and contempt.  He will give us hope.  Then we will understand that the whole world has been wounded in the same way, and it is only faith on God that will heal us.

Finally she tells us: "By Jesus' passion and death on the cross, you will understand that only through prayer you, too, can become true apostles of faith; when, in simplicity and prayer, you live faith which is a gift."  Jesus' passion and death on the cross bring us to faith.  They bring us to the truth, that God loves us and wants us to come home to Him.  This gift of faith then will change us into apostles, make us lovers of God and neighbor.

This is the gift that will be renewed in our hearts during the Easter Triduum. We have arrived at this moment, when we meditate on Jesus, crucified, and are healed.  Come, let us adore!

Mary TV: April 11, 2017 Reflection - Always carry my Son in your hearts!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
April 11, 2017
Tuesday of Holy Week

September 02, 2014 "Dear children, I, your mother, am coming anew among you out of love which has no end, from endless love of the endless Heavenly Father. And as I am looking into your hearts I see that many of you accept me as a mother and, with sincere and pure hearts, you desire to be my apostles. But, I am also the mother of those of you who do not accept me and who, in the hardness of your hearts, do not desire to come to know the love of my Son. And you do not know how much my heart suffers and how much I pray to my Son for you. I pray to Him to heal your souls because He can do so. I pray to Him to illuminate you with the miracle of the Holy Spirit so that you may stop, always anew, betraying, cursing and wounding Him. With all my heart I pray for you to understand that only my Son is the salvation and the light of the world. And you, my children, my dear apostles, always carry my Son in your hearts and thoughts. In this way you are carrying love. All those who do not know Him will recognize Him in your love. I am always beside you. In a special way I am beside your shepherds because my Son has called them to lead you on the way to eternity. Thank you, my apostles, for your sacrifice and love."

This difficult message from Our Lady talks about two sets of people, those who accept her presence in Medjugorje and also accept Jesus, and those who do not accept her presence and do not accept Jesus. She loves both sets. But she is very worried about those who deny her son, who betray Him and curse and wound Him. They are cutting themselves off from salvation.

In the Gospel for today Jesus is at table with the very same two sets of people, those who accept Him and those who deny Him. Of course the obvious one is Judas. But less obvious is Peter, the Rock on which the Church would be founded. Peter professes his fidelity to Jesus, but we all know how Peter acts later that night. Three times he denies Jesus. Three time he falls.

We must look into our hearts to discover our own denials, for surely there are some. The Lord only wants us to run to Him in humility and confess. He will take us back into His embrace. This is what Our Lady is praying for in her message of September 2, 2014. May we open our hearts to the Lord.
Tuesday of Holy Week - Gospel: Jn 13:21-33, 36-38

Reclining at table with his disciples, Jesus was deeply troubled and testified,
"Amen, amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me."
The disciples looked at one another, at a loss as to whom he meant.
One of his disciples, the one whom Jesus loved,
was reclining at Jesus' side.
So Simon Peter nodded to him to find out whom he meant.
He leaned back against Jesus' chest and said to him,
"Master, who is it?"
Jesus answered,
"It is the one to whom I hand the morsel after I have dipped it."
So he dipped the morsel and took it and handed it to Judas,
son of Simon the Iscariot.
After Judas took the morsel, Satan entered him.
So Jesus said to him, "What you are going to do, do quickly."
Now none of those reclining at table realized why he said this to him.
Some thought that since Judas kept the money bag, Jesus had told him,
"Buy what we need for the feast,"
or to give something to the poor.
So Judas took the morsel and left at once. And it was night.
When he had left, Jesus said,
"Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself,
and he will glorify him at once.
My children, I will be with you only a little while longer.
You will look for me, and as I told the Jews,
'Where I go you cannot come,' so now I say it to you."
Simon Peter said to him, "Master, where are you going?"
Jesus answered him,
"Where I am going, you cannot follow me now,
though you will follow later."
Peter said to him,
"Master, why can I not follow you now?
I will lay down my life for you."
Jesus answered, "Will you lay down your life for me?
Amen, amen, I say to you, the cock will not crow
before you deny me three times."

Mary TV: April 10, 2017 Reflection - Renew the love for Jesus in your hearts!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
April 10, 2017
Monday of Holy Week

Dear Family of Mary!
March 25, 1991 "Dear children! Again today I invite you to live the passion of Jesus in prayer, and in union with Him. Decide to give more time to God who gave you these days of grace. Therefore, dear children, pray and in a special way renew the love for Jesus in your hearts. I am with you and I accompany you with my blessing and my prayers. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Today's Gospel:

Six days before Passover Jesus came to Bethany,
where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.
They gave a dinner for him there, and Martha served,
while Lazarus was one of those reclining at table with him.
Mary took a liter of costly perfumed oil
made from genuine aromatic nard
and anointed the feet of Jesus and dried them with her hair;
the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
Then Judas the Iscariot, one of his disciples,
and the one who would betray him, said,
"Why was this oil not sold for three hundred days' wages
and given to the poor?"
He said this not because he cared about the poor
but because he was a thief and held the money bag
and used to steal the contributions.
So Jesus said, "Leave her alone.
Let her keep this for the day of my burial.
You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me."
The large crowd of the Jews found out that he was there and came,
not only because of him, but also to see Lazarus,
whom he had raised from the dead.
And the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus too,
because many of the Jews were turning away
and believing in Jesus because of him. (Jn 12: 1-11)

Like Lazraus' sister, Mary, we can turn our gaze upon Jesus this week, and give Him all of our attention. Mary knew how to tune everything out, and only have eyes for Jesus. Even Judas' taunts went unheard by her, as she anointed Jesus with costly oils and wiped His feet with her hair. Mary only had eyes and ears and heart for Jesus. Our Lady also had only eyes for Jesus, and this is what she wants for us.
