From CMMB: Let's not forget this heartbreaking reality

“No food. No water. No homes. They’ve lost everything.”
– Dr. Dianne Jean-Francois, CMMB Country Director, Haiti

Dear Friends,

Our team on the ground are extremely worried about what they've witnessed in the communities they've visited. The level of destruction is overwhelming. People have lost everything and they don't have what they need to survive. If their immediate need for clean water and food is not met, the number of deaths will rise. Together we are working to stop this from happening.

Thanks to compassionate and generous people like you, our staff and volunteers are working frantically, day and night, to get help to where it is needed most. Over the weekend and early this week, they have assisted 1,000 families with food, water purifying tablets and essential medical supplies.
People waiting in line to receive essential items
In the communities where we work, there are 5,000 more families that need urgent help to survive.  Every one of these families matter. Each are facing their own tragedies.

Families like Vilieme's. We met Vilieme two days ago, standing in front of what used to be her home.
Vilieme's youngest son stands in what used to be their home
She and her youngest son were here alone when the hurricane hit. The high winds rattled the doors and roof of their simple dwelling, and water started to pour in. They ran to a nearby neighbor who offered them shelter. After the worst of the storm had passed, they found their home destroyed, their few possessions washed away and their garden – which was their only source of food – was gone.

And even more heartbreaking, Vilieme has not been able to reach one of her children and she fears the worst.

You can help.

A generous gift of $100 will buy a household recovery kit for a family of five. This kit provides:
  • Water purification tablets, to prevent the deadly
  • Food
  • Hygiene kits
  • Household supplies

We want to reach all 5,000 families, and we need your help

Today, I ask that you continue praying for those impacted by Hurricane Matthew and know that your generosity is making a difference.
