Belong wholly to God through Mary in time, in order to belong wholly to God with Mary for eternity

Belong wholly to God through Mary in time, in order to belong wholly to God with Mary for eternity

(Padre Pio celebrating Mass. His Mass would often last hours, as the mystic received visions and experienced sufferings. Note the coverings worn on his hands to cover his stigmata.) (Wikipedia)
Saint Padre Pio opened himself up to God’s request and Jesus came to him to relive the mystery of his Cross.

This is how he brought into our world the substantial presence of Jesus and Mary, for you can never separate the Redeemer from the Woman who was his "generous collaboratrix in his Work of Redemption," to borrow the beautiful expression of Pope Pius XII in the speech he gave on November 1, 1950, for the proclamation of the Dogma of the Assumption.

When Padre Pio was present, one could say that Jesus and Mary were there too, through him. And because he was the instrument of a Presence that was beyond his humanity—since it was that of the Lord and His Mother—Padre Pio reached the summit of his priestly vocation: he was both Priest and Victim.

This presence of Jesus and Mary in Padre Pio was tangible to those who approached him because he personally lived this mysterious yet real presence. In this way, he taught us how to belong wholly to God through Mary in time, in order to belong wholly to God with Mary for eternity.

Let’s pray together

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death.
Amen.
