Dear Family of Mary!

October 25, 2014
"Dear children! Pray in this time of grace and seek the intercession of all the saints who are already in the light. From day to day may they be an example and encouragement to you on the way of your conversion. Little children, be aware that your life is short and passing. Therefore, yearn for eternity and keep preparing your hearts in prayer. I am with you and intercede before my Son for each of you, especially for those who have consecrated themselves to me and to my Son.   Thank you for having responded to my call."

At the New Year many of us choose a new saint, or as Denis says, the saint chooses us, so that we have their help and companionship for the coming year. It is a wonderful way to strengthen our ties with the Church Victorious, and to elicit their aid.

This year, we were given St. Joseph as the guardian saint for the Daily Rosary on Mary TV. Denis and I were so happy to receive St. Joseph! And we realized that only days before we had moved a big statue of St. Joseph into the middle of our set (see the picture above), so that we could focus on him as we prayed with everyone on line. It seemed that God really had a plan for St. Joseph!

And indeed, only a few days later, we received a beautiful email from one of our shipmates for the daily Rosary, Reuben. He shared something beautiful about our saint for the Rosary:

Dear Cathy,
I just wanted to share some experiences I and my family have been having. You have St Joseph praying for the rosary, and mentioned his standing behind the camera, how you are looking at him as looking at us. I am away working in a situation with considerable stresses among staff and client alike, and my anxiety can be quite high at times. Just this morning, I awoke with a sense of dread about the day's work, and began praying fitfully. I'd no sense of any saint's presence, least of all Saint Joseph's, but then quite suddenly became aware of him. It was as though he knelt down in front of me and began teaching me how to be still and accept the grace of Jesus. I felt a great silence and strength light up the darkness of my anxiety with hope, and was led into a shared prayer of much peace and joy. I am not sure if that describes it at all well, but it will have to do. Yet what really prompts my sharing this experience was what word I heard from home just now. It turns out our eldest son has also been feeling anxiety these last two days, and especially about finding a safe and reasonably priced rental apartment in his university town. Two days ago, there were none anywhere, yet since then, our son also received an intuition to pray with Joseph, did so, and now has four apartments on his favorite road lined up for immediate viewing! It seems like our foster father is introducing us to a new chapter of grace. I am deciding to believe anew!
In Jesus and Mary (and good St Joe),
Reuben

It is always such a blessing when God gives us a concrete experience of His love for us!! Reuben's experience of St. Joseph's intervention and loving presence is very moving. Truly heaven is listening, is close, is hovering over us ready to help us. We have only to believe and to ask!!

Thank you, St. Joseph, for joining us on the digital sea these days, and giving us your practical and wise counsel and help! Like Reuben, we all want to calm down and focus on Jesus. Please help us to do just that!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

PS. If you haven't yet chosen a saint for 2015, there is a list of saints on our webpage (2015 Saints List, http://www.marytv.tv/saints-list ). You can download and print out the PDF of the list, and cut out the individual entries. Then put them in a container, pray and pull out the saint God has chosen for you! It is a great blessing!
