St. Maria Faustina Kowalska

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children: I am calling you and I am coming among you because I need you.  I need apostles with a pure heart.  I am praying, and you should also pray, that the Holy Spirit may enable and lead you, that He may illuminate you and fill you with love and humility.  Pray that He may fill you with grace and mercy.  Only then will you understand me, my children.  Only then will you understand my pain because of those who have not come to know the love of God.  Then you will be able to help me.  You will be my light-bearers of God's love.  You will illuminate the way for those who have been given eyes but do not want to see.  I desire for all of my children to see my Son.  I desire for all of my children to experience His Kingdom.  Again I call you and implore you to pray for those whom my Son has called.  Thank you."   (October 2, 2012)

Today is the feast of St. Faustina. I have loved her ever since I was introduced to her Dairy many years ago. When I read from her diary I feel like she is talking directly to me and that Jesus also speaks to me through His words to her. I receive so much spiritual direction from St. Faustina!

Today I asked St. Faustina if she could give us some words that would help us to respond to Our Lady's message of October 2. I opened to entry 785, which includes words that Our Lady spoke to St. Faustina's heart. Our Lady encouraged St. Faustina to silence, humility and continuous adoration of Jesus within her. Much of Our Lady's advice reminds me of this message. Let's let Our Lady's words to St. Faustina help us to live her words to us through Mirjana:

November 29, 1936. The Mother of God has taught me how to prepare for the Feast of Christmas. I saw Her today, without the Infant Jesus. She said to me: My daughter, strive after silence and humility, so that Jesus, who dwells in your heart continuously, may be able to rest. Adore Him in your heart, do not go out from your inmost being. My daughter, I shall obtain for you the grace of an interior life which will be such that, without ever leaving that interior life, you will be able to carry out all your external duties with even greater care. Dwell with Him continuously in your own heart. He will be your strength. Communicate with creatures only in so far as is necessary and is required by your duties. You are a dwelling place pleasing to the living God; in you He dwells continuously with love and delight. And the living presence of God, which you experience in a more vivid way, will confirm you, my daughter, in the things I have told you. Try to act in this way until Christmas Day, and then He himself will make known to you in what way you will be communing and uniting yourself with Him (Diary 785).

Isn't this beautiful! Our Lady was encouraging St. Faustina to become an apostle with a pure heart, just like she is encouraging us! Our Lady wanted St. Faustina to live in silence and humility and constant prayer, so that she would become filled with light and love. The Lord would live in her in such a profound way that she would become His dwelling place and His delight. I think that we, too, could follow this advice. Loving Jesus, dwelling within us, could make us much more pure, more recollected, more humble, more loving, and more illuminated with the Holy Spirit. Constantly adoring Jesus, within, could make us just the kind of apostles Our Lady needs, apostles with pure hearts!

St. Faustina, help us to respond to Our Lady's call to us. She spoke to you directly, and you listened. She is speaking to us directly too, and we want very much to listen with hearts open wide.

Have a beautiful weekend, and God bless you all!
