[MaryVitamin] La Salette I

Topic:
Our Lady of La Salette (Feast September 19)

Quote:
The Blessed Virgin Mary at La Salette, France

Do you say your prayers properly, my children? Oh! my children, you must say them, morning and evening. When you can do no more, say a Pater and an Ave Maria; and when you have the time to do better, you will say more.
September 19, 1846

Meditation:
In this fully approved apparition of Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin appeared weeping covered with chains. She had a dire message regarding the justice of Her Son and the continual prayers she offers on our behalf.

a.        "I gave you six days for work, I kept the seventh for myself, and no one wishes to grant it to me. This is what weighs down so much the arm of my Son."
~        "Those who drive carts cannot speak without putting the Name of my Son in the middle."
b.        "These are the two things which weigh down so much the arm of my Son."

In this apparition, Our Lady requests with tears that we say our prayers well and obey the Commandments, particularly the first three.
Pope John Paul II wrote about La Salette on 6th May 1996.
The message of La Salette was given to two young shepherds in a period of great suffering. La Salette is a message of hope - a hope sustained by the intercession of her who is the Mother of all peoples... At La Salette, Mary clearly spoke of the constancy of her prayer for the world: she will never abandon the people created in the image and likeness of God, those to whom it has been given to become children of God. May she lead to her Son all the nations of the earth.

Resolution:
When I say my morning and evening prayers, I will remember that Our Lady of La Salette requested that these prayers be said well – this appeases the Divine Justice of Her Son.

Marian Vow:
Father Manelli, FI
To know the Immaculate, therefore, is of primary importance for loving and imitating Her, for praising and glorifying Her, for mirroring oneself in Her virtues, for discovering oneself in Her examples, for conforming oneself to her instructions. Hence, the necessity of study and , ever more, of assiduous mediation on the mystery of Mary to discover and deepen it without rest or delay.  This is why St. Bernard, followed by St. Maximilian, teaches that "of Mary enough can never be said."
The Marian Vow of Unlimited Consecration to the Immaculate, (Immaculate Mediatrix Edition: 1996), 21-2.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Thanks be to God for graces received.
