Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection for Unborn Children

Dear Family of Mary!
August 8, 1985 "Dear children! Today I call you especially now to advance against satan by means of prayer. Satan wants to work still more now that you know he is at work. Dear children, put on the armor for battle and with the Rosary in your hand defeat him! Thank you for having responded to my call."

Ephesians 6: 11-20
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace; besides all these, taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that utterance may be given me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
January 25, 1990"Dear children! Today I invite you to decide for God once again and to choose Him before everything and above everything, so that He may work miracles in your life and that day by day your life may become joy with Him. Therefore, little children, pray and do not permit satan to work in your life through misunderstandings, the non-understanding and non-acceptance of one another. Pray that you may be able to comprehend the greatness and the beauty of the gift of life. Thank you for having responded to my call."
Pray for the end of abortion in the entire world. Jesus, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: January 19, 2018 Reflection - Carry them in your hearts!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

January 19, 2018

Dear Family of Mary!
"...As a mother I implore you not to forget those whom my Son has called to lead you. Carry them in your heart and pray for them. Thank you." (January 2, 2018)

What a beautiful plea Our Lady made at the end of the January 2, 2018 message! "As a mother..." We all know how deeply from the heart a mother can speak to her children. She communicates with the strongest empathy and communion to her children. They are so much a part of her that they cannot ignore her pleas.

"I implore you not to forget those whom my Son has called to lead you." Our Lady must hold our priests very close to her heart to make such a plea. Do not forget them! Do not let them out of your mind or your memory.

"Carry them in your heart and pray for them." Indeed, carry them in your heart. To do this is to love them like your own flesh and blood. She wants us to remember them in our prayers and intercede for them often and deeply.

One of our shipmates had an experience in Medjugorje last fall that illustrates this call of Our Lady perfectly. She wrote:

Hi Cathy! Thank you for your reflection yesterday on us all being the children of the Father, it really struck a deep chord within me.

You may remember me, it was I who stopped you in a restaurant and asked you how you managed to look so young! [Ha ha!!]  I was then on my fourth solo trip to Medjugorje, (I always go on my own as I can never get anyone to come with me!).   For the life of me, I just couldn't understand why I was there again; I thought I had already received all my answers and so many blessings, but here I was again, on my own.  Your article stirred up and reminded me of the reason why I was there!  One day, I was given such an overwhelming, powerful knowledge of who God the Father is; it was as if He was showing me that He too was here, with Jesus and Our Blessed Mother.... I had to come to know Him also.

Still having the feeling of not understanding why I was there, on the last day whilst I was at Mass and when I received the Blessed Sacrament, I decided to pray for our priests. Suddenly I was filled with so much grace that the tears flowed profusely and when I left the church, I was sobbing so much and so loud I had to take myself off towards the car park where I knew no one would hear me!   I had been praying for all priests in Medjugorje and for the ones whom I know, and one in particular who was very important to my family who had died a few years ago.  I had this overwhelming feeling that no one was praying for his soul, and my tears were for the tragedy of no one praying for those of our priests who have passed away.   I guess this is what Our Lady's school is teaching us all, bit by bit.

Can I please ask you and Denis to remember me in your prayers, particularly about the times when I feel no one wants to know about Our Lady appearing in Medjugorje and the beautiful graces she and her Son and Father are bestowing on us all.

May God Bless you both and thank you for all that you do in Jesus' name. Connie

Thank you Connie! Amazing graces! You met the Heavenly Father in Medjugorje and received the grace of praying for our priests from the heart! Yes, we will pray for you. Thank you for sharing what you experienced in Medjugorje! We are right there with you, loving Our Lady of Medjugorje!

I am amazed at the power of the Holy Spirit, giving Connie the gift of prayer and tears! What a sign of God's anointing and desire for her to pray for priests. Our Lady has asked us all to pray in just such a way. May we be given the grace of the Holy Spirit to help us pray as we aught!

Thank you to all of you for responding to Our Lady's call. She needs each one of us to be docile to the Holy Spirit, so we can support her in her mission of these days.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: January 18, 2018 Reflection - Be children!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
January 18, 2018

Dear Family of Mary!
"...My children, be joyful in your soul, be pure, be children..." (January 2, 2018)

Be children! This mysterious request of Our Lady has echoed in my heart ever since I first read the January 2, 2018 message. It seems that being joyful in our souls, and being pure are necessary conditions to being children. All three requests are intriguing.

We all would love to be joyful in our souls! How can that be achieved? My soul seems to be most joyful just after I have received absolution in Confession. The grace of forgiveness floods my soul with a sense of wellbeing which can only be described as having a joyful soul! A joyful soul is a soul that is reconciled with God, and completely in His hands. And it is most completely in God's hands right after Confession, at least for me!

How we would also love to be pure! Again, purity is most intensely felt after Confession, and then when we win the fight against temptation, an ongoing battle indeed. To be pure we must choose God alone, over and over again! And live in His presence continually, so that sin will have no allure.

But to be children! I found this message from 2013 that seems to center around this idea of being a child of God. Read it and see what you think:

December 02, 2013 "Dear children, with a motherly love and a motherly patience I am looking at your ceaseless wandering and how lost you are. That is why I am with you. I desire to help you to first find and come to know yourself, so that, then, you would be able to recognize and to admit everything that does not permit you to get to know the love of the Heavenly Father, honestly and wholeheartedly. My children, the Father comes to be known through the cross. Therefore, do not reject the cross. Strive to comprehend and accept it with my help. When you will be able to accept the cross you will also understand the love of the Heavenly Father; you will walk with my Son and with me; you will differ from those who have not come to know the love of the Heavenly Father, those who listen to Him but do not understand Him, those who do not walk with Him - who have not come to know Him. I desire for you to come to know the truth of my Son and to be my apostles; that, as children of God, you may rise above the human way of thinking and always, and in everything, seek God's way of thinking, anew. My children, pray and fast that you may be able to recognize all of this which I am seeking of you. Pray for your shepherds and long to come to know the love of your Heavenly Father, in union with them. Thank you."

Our Lady asks these things of us:

Come to know yourself and the things that keep you from knowing the love of the Heavenly Father honestly and wholeheartedly.

Accept the crosses in your life, with Our Lady's help, so you can begin to understand the love of the Heavenly Father.

Walk with Jesus and Mary, as children of the Heavenly Father in one family of love.

Get to know the truth of Jesus, so that as children of God you can adopt God's way of thinking.

Pray and fast to understand what Our Lady is saying to you!

To be children, it seems, we need a Father! And not just any father, but the Heavenly Father, the Father of Jesus, the Father who created us and loves us without end. And to know this Father we must have a deep knowledge of ourselves, our sins, our weaknesses and our needs. We must also know and accept our crosses which somehow are the keys to understanding the Father's love. We need to walk with Jesus, through our lives, so that He can show us the Father! And we must learn from Jesus to think like the Father. Then and only then will we be joyful, pure children!! Then and only then our souls will be filled with joy!

I think it might be good to reread the message a few times and slowly meditate on the things Our Lady tells us. They are words of life, and will help us if we do! It is not a matter of words, but of prayer. God alone can teach us much of what Our Lady says in this message, personally, individually, and gently!

Mary TV: January 17, 2018 Reflection - The present moment is ours!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018

J.M.J.
January 17, 2018
St. Anthony

Dear Family of Mary!

Today we will begin with a word from St. Faustina. She was the Apostle of Mercy, given the task of spreading devotion to Jesus as the Merciful Savior.
Oh, if only the suffering soul knew how it is loved by God, it would die of joy and an excess of happiness! Someday we will know the value of suffering, but then we will no longer be able to suffer. The present moment is ours. (963 - Diary)
The present moment is ours! This is so very true. No matter what God is asking of us, the present moment is ours, the past is over, and the future is not in our hands. The present moment is ours, to give to the Lord with love and trust, knowing that He will use the gift in amazing ways!

Here are several messages in which Our Lady talks about suffering, encouraging us to give our sufferings to God, for Him to use as He sees fit. We might meditate on them in our rosaries today, letting the wisdom of Our Lady form us:
September 11, 1986 "Dear children! For these days while you are joyfully celebrating the Cross, I desire that your cross also would be a joy for you. Especially, dear children, pray that you may be able to accept sickness and suffering with love the way Jesus accepted them. Only that way shall I be able with joy to give out to you the graces and healings which Jesus is permitting me. Thank you for having responded to my call."
Tuesday, November 29, 1983 To Jelena:   "I am your mother full of goodness, and Jesus is your great friend. Do not fear anything in His presence. Give Him your heart, from the bottom of your heart. Tell Him your sufferings, thus you will be invigorated in prayer, with a free heart, in a peace without fear."
March 25, 2006 "Courage, little children! I decided to lead you on the way of holiness. Renounce sin and set out on the way of salvation, the way which my Son has chosen. Through each of your tribulations and sufferings God will find the way of joy for you. Therefore, little children, pray. We are close to you with our love. Thank you for having responded to my call."
March 25, 2013 "Dear children! In this time of grace, I call you to take the cross of my beloved Son Jesus in your hands and to meditate on His passion and death. May your suffering be united in His suffering and love will win, because He who is love gave Himself out of love to save each of you. Pray, pray, pray until love and peace begin to reign in your hearts. Thank you for having responded to my call."
May 02, 2015 "Dear children, open your hearts and try to feel how much I love you and how much I desire for you to love my Son. I desire for you to come to know Him all the better, because it is impossible to know Him and not to love Him - because He is love. I, my children, know you. I know your pain and suffering because I lived through them. I laugh with you in your joy and I cry with you in your pain. I will never leave you. I will always speak to you with motherly tenderness. And I, as a mother, need your open hearts to spread the love of my Son with wisdom and simplicity. I need you to be open and sensitive to the good and mercy. I need you to be united with my Son, because I desire for you to be happy and to help me to bring happiness to all of my children. My apostles, I need you to show everyone the truth of God, so that my heart, which suffered and today suffers so much pain, can win in love. Pray for the holiness of your shepherds, so that in the name of my Son they can work miracles, because holiness works miracles. Thank you."
September 02, 2017 "Dear children, who could speak to you about the love and the pain of my Son better than I? I lived with Him; I suffered with Him. Living the earthly life, I felt pain because I was a mother. My Son loved the thoughts and the works of the Heavenly Father, the true God. And, as He said to me, He came to redeem you. I hid my pain through love, but you, my children, you have numerous questions. You do not comprehend pain. You do not comprehend that through the love of God you need to accept pain and endure it. Every human being will experience it to a lesser or greater measure. But with peace in the soul and in a state of grace, hope exists; this is my Son, God, born of God. His words are the seed of eternal life. Sown in good souls they bring numerous fruits. My Son bore the pain because He took your sins upon Himself. Therefore, you, my children, apostles of my love, you who suffer, know that your pain will become light and glory. My children, while you are enduring pain, while you are suffering, Heaven enters in you and you give a piece of Heaven and much hope to all those around you. Thank you."

The present moment is ours! May we entrust our sufferings to the Lord so that He may use them to save souls. May we endure our suffering, knowing that heaven will enter into us as we trust Jesus and pray. May we allow Him to work through us for all those around us in great need of His salvation.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: January 16, 2018 Reflection - May your crosses be your means in the battle...

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018

J.M.J.
January 16, 2018

Dear Family of Mary!

"...May your crosses be your means in the battle against the sins of the present time..." (October 2, 2010)

I have always considered crosses something to be avoided, something to set aside as quickly as possible. And so the October 2, 2010 message was a revelation for me. To believe that the crosses in my life can be opportunities to turn the tide of evil, the sins of the present time, is to change the way I think about so much! As I was praying about it, I came across this message from 1996:
September 25, 1996 "Dear children! Today I invite you to offer your crosses and suffering for my intentions. Little children, I am your mother and I wish to help you by seeking for you the grace from God. Little children, offer your sufferings as a gift to God so they become a most beautiful flower of joy. That is why, little children, pray that you may understand that suffering can become joy and the cross the way of joy. Thank you for having for responded to my call."

Our Lady has been praying for us to receive the grace from God that will enable us to offer our crosses and suffering for her intentions! She has needed our cooperation in her battle for souls all along. Without our willing sacrifices and sufferings, she cannot achieve her plan to bring about an era of peace. Our crosses are the means in the battle!!

But she assures us that if we give our sufferings and crosses to God as a gift, they will be transformed into joy! We might wonder how this can be. And indeed, every person has their own path to this joy. St. John Paul II wrote an Apostolic Letter, Salvifici doloris, in 1984, in which he explored our call to pick up our cross and follow Jesus. He was still recovering from the assassination attempt in 1981, and his pontificate was shaped by his own suffering from that point on. He writes about the joy that comes from offering suffering to Christ in this way:

(26)...Christ through his own salvific suffering is very much present in every human suffering, and can act from within that suffering by the powers of his Spirit of truth, his consoling Spirit.
This is not all: The Divine Redeemer wishes to penetrate the soul of every sufferer through the heart of his holy Mother, the first and the most exalted of all the redeemed. As though by a continuation of that motherhood which by the power of the Holy Spirit had given him life, the dying Christ conferred upon the ever Virgin Mary a new kind of motherhood-spiritual and universal-towards all human beings, so that every individual, during the pilgrimage of faith, might remain, together with her, closely united to him unto the Cross, and so that every form of suffering, given fresh life by the power of this Cross, should become no longer the weakness of man but the power of God.

However, this interior process does not always follow the same pattern. It often begins and is set in motion with great difficulty. Even the very point of departure differs: people react to suffering in different ways. But in general it can be said that almost always the individual enters suffering with a typically human protest and with the question "why". He asks the meaning of his suffering and seeks an answer to this question on the human level. Certainly he often puts this question to God, and to Christ. Furthermore, he cannot help noticing that the one to whom he puts the question is himself suffering and wishes to answer him from the Cross, from the heart of his own suffering. Nevertheless, it often takes time, even a long time, for this answer to begin to be interiorly perceived. For Christ does not answer directly and he does not answer in the abstract this human questioning about the meaning of suffering. Man hears Christ's saving answer as he himself gradually becomes a sharer in the sufferings of Christ.

The answer which comes through this sharing, by way of the interior encounter with the Master, is in itself something more than the mere abstract answer to the question about the meaning of suffering. For it is above all a call. It is a vocation. Christ does not explain in the abstract the reasons for suffering, but before all else he says: "Follow me!". Come! Take part through your suffering in this work of saving the world, a salvation achieved through my suffering! Through my Cross. Gradually, as the individual takes up his cross, spiritually uniting himself to the Cross of Christ, the salvific meaning of suffering is revealed before him. He does not discover this meaning at his own human level, but at the level of the suffering of Christ. At the same time, however, from this level of Christ the salvific meaning of suffering descends to man's level and becomes, in a sense, the individual's personal response. It is then that man finds in his suffering interior peace and even spiritual joy.

27. Saint Paul speaks of such joy in the Letter to the Colossians: "I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake"(88). A source of joy is found in the overcoming of the sense of the uselessness of suffering, a feeling that is sometimes very strongly rooted in human suffering. This feeling not only consumes the person interiorly, but seems to make him a burden to others. The person feels condemned to receive help and assistance from others, and at the same time seems useless to himself. The discovery of the salvific meaning of suffering in union with Christ transforms this depressing feeling. Faith in sharing in the suffering of Christ brings with it the interior certainty that the suffering person "completes what is lacking in Christ's afflictions"; the certainty that in the spiritual dimension of the work of Redemption he is serving, like Christ, the salvation of his brothers and sisters. Therefore, he is carrying out an irreplaceable service. In the Body of Christ, which is ceaselessly born of the Cross of the Redeemer, it is precisely suffering permeated by the spirit of Christ's sacrifice that is the irreplaceable mediator and author of the good things which are indispensable for the world's salvation. It is suffering, more than anything else, which clears the way for the grace which transforms human souls. Suffering, more than anything else, makes present in the history of humanity the powers of the Redemption. In that "cosmic" struggle between the spiritual powers of good and evil, spoken of in the Letter to the Ephesians, human sufferings, united to the redemptive suffering of Christ, constitute a special support for the powers of good, and open the way to the victory of these salvific powers. (Salvifici doloris, n 26-27

I know this is long. But how can we not listen to Saint John Paul II talk about the process that makes suffering turn into joy? Our Lady told us it is true. Saint John Paul II showed us the way by his own life. He tells us that Mary has been given a new kind of motherhood, one in which she draws us to her Son on the Cross, to help us unite our suffering with His. And he assures us that our suffering can turn to joy, because "human sufferings, united to the redemptive suffering of Christ, constitute a special support for the powers of good, and open the way to the victory of these salvific powers!!" Our suffering, given as a gift to Jesus, can change the world!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: January 15, 2018 Reflection - May your weapon be patience and boundless love.

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018

J.M.J.
January 15, 2018

Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children; Today I call you to a humble, my children, humble devotion. Your hearts need to be just. May your crosses be your means in the battle against the sins of the present time. May your weapon be patience and boundless love, a love that knows to wait and which will make you capable of recognizing God's signs, that your life, by humble love, may show the truth to all those who seek it in the darkness of lies. My children, my apostles, help me to open the paths to my Son. Once again I call you to pray for your shepherds. Alongside them, I will triumph. Thank you." (October 2, 2010)

Our Lady calls us to be humble. To worship God with hearts that are aware of their complete dependence on Him. Humility is very much a matter of truth. God is our creator. We are creatures. We cannot exist without God's constant creative action. What else can we say to this?

She wants our hearts to be just. This is to love our neighbor as our very selves. If God has created us all, we can only reverence each other as the work of His hand.

She tells us that our crosses are the "means" in the battle against the sins of the present time. What a powerful wisdom this is! There are many sins in our day. They seem to be overwhelming. But it is in our crosses that we can meet the enemy. Our crosses mark the battle field. It is in these sufferings and burdens that we engage the enemy. The enemy is not the people involved in the sins, but the accuser of the brethren who is behind the sins.

Now we get the most powerful statement in this message: "May your weapon be patience and boundless love, a love that knows to wait and which will make you capable of recognizing God's signs, that your life, by humble love, may show the truth to all those who seek it in the darkness of lies." Wow!!! Our weapon is not our brilliant arguments or political power. Our weapon is patience and boundless love in the midst of our crosses. Our strategy is to wait in patience with endless and limitless love, and in the waiting we will recognize God's signs, see His guiding hand, and know just what to do or say to help those who are caught in the enemy's lies. Patience when we suffer is the purifying fire that wins the victory! Patience makes our love grow.

If we enter the battle field, embracing our crosses with patience and love, waiting for the Lord to lead, we will help Our Lady to open the paths to her Son for others. Graces will be won to deliver souls in darkness!

We all have crosses in our lives. Our Lady wants us to see them for what they are, the means in the battle, the things that enable us to confront the enemy and take territory away from him. Our crosses are gifts, because with the weapons of patience and love, they become powerful opportunities for the victory of the truth.

The Victory is coming, and it will be won through Our Lady and our shepherds, supported in the battle by our patience and love while bearing our crosses.

May it be so!

Mary TV: January 12, 2018 Reflection - Pray for those whom my Son has called to lead you.

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016

J.M.J.
January 12, 2018

Dear Family of Mary!
"...As a mother I implore you not to forget those whom my Son has called to lead you. Carry them in your heart and pray for them. Thank you..." (January 2, 2018)

Here are two prayers that can be prayed for our shepherds, our priests, bishops, deacons, and the Pope. Our Lady calls them "those whom my Son has called to lead you." Indeed, they have a very difficult calling. We owe them our love and prayers, because they have given themselves up completely for us. One prayer is by St. John Paul II, the other by St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

Prayer by Blessed John Paul II in Pastores Dabo Vobis

Mother of Jesus Christ and Mother of priests,
Accept this title which we bestow on you to celebrate your motherhood and to contemplate with you the priesthood of your Son and of your sons, O holy Mother of God.

Mother of Christ, to the Messiah Priest you gave a body of flesh through the anointing of the Holy Spirit for the salvation of the poor and the contrite of heart; guard priests in your heart and in the Church, O Mother of the Savior.

Mother of Faith, you accompanied to the Temple the Son of Man, the fulfillment of the promises given to the fathers; give to the Father for his glory the priests of your Son, O Ark of the Covenant.

Mother of the Church, with the disciples in the Upper Room you prayed to the Spirit for the new People and their shepherds; obtain for the Order of Presbyters a fullness of gifts, O Queen of the Apostles.

Mother of Jesus Christ, you were with Him at the beginning of His life and of His mission,
you sought the Master among the crowd,
you stood beside Him when he was lifted up from the earth consumed as the one eternal sacrifice, and you had John close by you, your son; accept from the beginning those who have been called, protect their growth, accompany your sons in their life and in their ministry,
O Mother of Priests. Amen.

Prayer of St Therese of the Child Jesus

O Jesus, I pray for your faithful and fervent priests;
for your unfaithful and tepid priests;
for your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields.
for your tempted priests;
for your lonely and desolate priests;
For your young priests;
for your dying priests;
for the souls of your priests in Purgatory.
But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me:
the priest who baptized me;
the priests who absolved me from my sins;
the priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion;
the priests who taught and instructed me;
all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way (especially ...).
O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart,
and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity. Amen.

Mary, Mother of Jesus, pray with us for our priests!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
